Free Trial for Powerspeak Languages
Create an account and learn Spanish, French, Mandarin, or German, after creating an account, with audio/video tutorials. Powerspeak Languages simulates gradual immersion into a new language through a series of stories, activities and innovative learning tools. You may access Powerspeak Languages on the Databases page. The trial ends February 19th.

Free Trial for Women and Social Movements in the United States, 1600-2000
Women and Social Movements in the United States is a resource for students and scholars of U.S. history and U.S. women's history. Organized around the history of women in social movements in the U.S. between 1600 and 2000, this collection seeks to advance scholarly debates and understanding about U.S. history generally at the same time that it makes the insights of women's history accessible to teachers and students at universities, colleges, and high schools. The collection currently includes 91 document projects and archives with more than 3,600 documents and 150,000 pages of additional full-text documents, and more than 2,060 primary authors. It also includes book, film, and website reviews, notes from the archives, and teaching tools. Women and Social Movements in the United States, 1600-2000 is available from the Databases page. The trial ends March 13th.

Written Legacy: the Writing and Poetry of African American Women will be on display in Archives and Special Collections on the second floor of Bracken Library through April 2010. Celebrate Black History Month and Women’s History Month by exploring the writing and poetry of African American women. Archives & Special Collections house a variety of literature by well known African American female authors and poets. Included in the exhibit are Toni Morrison’s Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winning Song of Solomon; the poetry of Gwendolyn Brooks, who was named Poet Laureate consultant in Poetry to the Library of congress; and the writings of actress, playwright, director, autobiographer, and poet, Maya Angelou. Also featured in this exhibit will be Wanda Coleman, Rita Dove, and many more. For more information, please contact Lajmar Anderson at ldanderson@bsu.edu.
