Web of Science Has Been Added to the Databases Page

Web of Science is not just for the sciences. It allows you to locate citations to articles in approximately 8,830 titles from 230 disciplines. Web of Science cross searches the Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index back to 1992.

Free Trial for Europa World Plus

Europa World Plus is the online version of the Europa World Year Book and the nine-volume Regional Surveys of the World series. First published in 1926, it covers political and economic information in more than 250 countries and territories around the world. Europa World Plus is available from the Databases page. The trial ends October 25th.

Free Trial for BuildingGreen Suite

The BuildingGreen Suite integrates online versions of GreenSpec, Environmental Building News, and a database of more than 100 high-performance building case studies. This information is searchable and cross-referenced by CSI MasterFormat division, LEEDâ„¢ credit, or green topic. Each article, product listing, and case study also lists related content and information sources. BuildingGreen Suite is available from the Databases page. The trial ends October 22nd.

Free Trial for Oxford African American Studies Center

This database allows online access to reference books on African American studies published by Oxford University Press. It also includes biographies, timelines, images, primary source documents, maps, selected websites, charts, and tables. Oxford African American Studies Center is available from the Databases page. The trial ends October 28th.

October 2006 Tip of the Month

Bracken Library offers color printing from any of its 350 public stations. This popular service costs just 25 cents per page. Instructions on using this service can be found at the Reference desk and the Periodical Reserves Desk in Bracken Library. Poster-sized color printing can be done in the Geospatial Center and Map Collection(GCMC) in BL 224. The cost is $6 for posters 36" or less. Larger posters can be printed at additional cost. The GCMC is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Coming to Ball State: Freshman Life 101

An Archives and Special Collection Research Center exhibit entitled 30 Years of Renewing Lives: Community Mental Health Services to Meridian Services, will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Meridian Services' mental health programs in Delaware, Henry, and Jay counties. The exhibit will trace Meridian's growth from 1976 to 2006 and will include publications, photographs, and artifacts from the Meridian Services Collection. 30 Years of Renewing Lives will be on display on the second floor of Bracken Library through November 3rd.
