Bloomsbury Research Centre Has Been Added to the Databases Page

The Bloomsbury Research Centre is a FREE on-line database of reference books. Over 17,000 fully-indexed entries are cross-referenced. Search on a wide range of subjects including literature, art, myth, human thought, quotations and a thesaurus.


Live Search Academic Has Been Removed from the Databases Page

This database was discontinued by the publisher.

Free Trial for Images of the American Civil War: Photographs, Posters, and Ephemera

At completion, the database will present 75,000 images drawn from archives around the country, documenting the camp, battle, prison, and hospital experiences of Union and Confederate soldiers of all ranks and the civilian and political life in cities and towns close to and far from the front lines of war. The database also includes graphical content such as envelopes, song sheets, recruiting posters, imprints, and cartoons give users the ability to research how wartime America illustrated their times visually. Images of the American Civil War: Photographs, Posters, and Ephemera is available from the Databases page. The trial ends June 13th.

Events June 2008

The World In Artistic Expression will be on display outside Archives and Special Collections, Bracken Library room 210, through July 30, 2008. The exhibit features rare books of drawings, calligraphy, murals, and mosaics from around the world.
