Psychiatry Online Has Been Added to the Databases Page

Psychiatry online contains the six journals published by American Psychiatric Publishing, Inc. (APPI) as well as the DSM Library, including the DSM-IV-TR. The six journal titles are The American Journal of Psychiatry, Psychiatric Services, Focus: The Journal of Lifelong Learning in Psychiatry, Academic Psychiatry, The Journal of Neuropsychiatry & Clinical Neurosciences, Psychosomatics, and Psychiatric News.


Ball State University Libraries' Has a New Research Tool

MultiSearch, new this semester, allows you to simultaneously search 50 databases including our libraries' catalog, CardCat. Using a single search box you can search either all 50 databases or limit your search to databases in one or more of 15 subject areas. Come to one of our short workshop to find out more. Workshops will be held at the following times:

  • Monday, February 9 10:00-10:30 am

  • Tuesday, February 10 2:00 -2:30 pm

  • Wednesday, February 11 7:00-7:30 pm


All sessions will be in Bracken Library room 104.

Philosopher's Index Database Has a New Look

Access to Philosopher's Index is now through EBSCOhost. The EBSCOhost search interface is intuitive and includes links to the full text of articles in addition to FindIt.

February 2009 Tip of the Month

Here is an opportunity for researchers to "put it all together" in terms of research tools! Attend our grant writting workshop, February 18th from 10 AM - Noon. Staff from Bracken Library and Research House are combining forces to lead workshops for graduate students and faculty that will put research databases literally at your fingertips. Workshops will focus on Web of Science, GrantSelect, and Community of Science—information sources for enabling searching literature/citation indices and identifying funding opportunities. The workshop will be held in Bracken Library room 104.
