March 19th Through June 29th
A new Archives and Special Collections exhibit, Doc Bowen: From Indiana to Washington, will be on display on the 2nd floor of Bracken Library from March 19 through June 29. The exhibit will include photographs, documents, and political memorabilia from the recently acquired Dr. Otis R. Bowen Papers. March 28th
The Friends of the Alexander M. Bracken Library will hold its annual dinner and meeting on March 28, 2007, at the Ball State University Alumni Center. A reception begins at 6:00 followed by dinner at 6:30. The Kirkham Lecture following the dinner will be a panel discussion on The Middletown Digital Oral History Collection by Warren Vander Hill, Hurley Goodall, and John Weakland. The Archives and Special Collections Research Center will celebrate Black History Month with an exhibit of photographs, documents, and other materials that tell the story of the Civil Rights Movement in Muncie. Bringing the Dream to Middletown: Muncie's Civil Rights Movement, 1955-1975 will focus on the struggle to make Dr. Martin Luther King's dream of a just society a reality in Middletown USA. The exhibit will highlight the contributions of key individuals and chart major events in the local movement.
